House in the Woods

House in the Woods is a horror game made for SCREAM JAM 2024. You play as Wren, who after getting lost in the forest in the middle of the night decides to seek shelter in an abandoned house. If they want to survive they have to decode runes and books in order to do the correct ritual and escape.

Game contains blood, death and occult rituals.

NOTE: this is my second game - bugs are to be expected and quality cannot be assured.

Instructions:

Doing rituals and experiencing supernatural phenomena will haunt you more, making the game more difficult. In order to reduce this supernatural grip you can meditate or read the bible, but be ware: it is burned for a reason. Furthermore, the house itself reacts to Eldritch powers - remember to look at the paintings located thruought the building.

Inside the house you will find notes and piles of books, reading which can help you find the runes needed for a ritual - each ritual need 4 runes that are noted from top left to bottom right. You will get 2 runes from grimoire and have to guess the rest using notes, books and false positives.
